Combined Worship Service

Just as the prophet Samuel assumes Eliab must be king due to his impressive physical appearance—and Jesse leaves young David out in the fields entirely—we often let initial assumptions determine who belongs "in the room". Human perception is limited to outward appearances, whereas God looks at the heart, and spiritual maturity requires staying curious, acknowledging our incomplete perspective as we search for clues as to how or why God might be working in our lives through people or experiences we might otherwise dismiss.
