Sunday Service - Traditions

The view from the roof isn't always good. Gaining elevation can provide perspective, but viewing others from a high elevation often erodes empathy, reducing complex human beings into distant objects, targets for judgment, or entertainment. In Judges, Samson had been captured and humiliated by the Philistines. He was deeply flawed himself, but Samson's character did not warrant their dehumanization. We explore and take comfort in knowing no matter how messy we are, how low from the rooftop moment, God still hears our cries.
