How It All Started...
Trinity began as a United Brethren congregation meeting, and there are still some Trinity disciples who would be happy to tell you all about it! We've celebrated our 100th, 150th, and 175th anniversaries of worshiping God and serving the Hummelstown community. Here are some highlights from our beginning:
-1823 - Jacob Erb, 19, was appointed pastor of the Lancaster-Harrisburg circuit, which included Hummelstown.
-1842 - A congregation of members of the United Brethren in Christ faith organized in Hummelstown.
-1843 - A small stone house of worship was built on the site of our current church.
-1857 - A two-story brick church replaces the stone house.
-1911 - The cornerstone of our present church building is laid.
-1968 - The EUB and Methodist denominations merge to become the United Methodist denomination. Our new congregation is named Trinity United Methodist.

Expanding the Vision
No matter how far back you go, you'll find Trinity has a history deeply rooted in serving our Hummelstown neighbors. From yearly Vacation Bible School programs for children to today's free clothing bank that serves hundreds of families each year both from Hummelstown and beyond, Trinity's heart has always been to share God's love with our community.
Where We're Going
Under Pastor Rob's leadership, Trinity is focused on forging even deeper relationships with our community by fostering the spirit of acceptance and service to others. We're striving to reach those most in need of hearing how beloved they are and helping them to create relationships with Jesus and our church community. We recognize each person's value as a child of God, each with different abilities and needs, and have a special heart for helping to heal those who have been turned away from or hurt by churches. We hope you'll join us on this journey!
