Rich By Jesus

The Prosperity Gospel is the most well-known modern heresy. Believing that you can earn God's blessing and goodness; that we're rewarded for the things we do. That God's love is measured by how shiny our life looks on the outside. The deepest problem with the Prosperity Gospel is it doesn't teach us to love God, it teaches us to use God. If life is hard, did you just not pray enough? That's not the Gospel, that's a burden placed on the shoulders of people already carrying too much. But Jesus had words for those who would have us believe this is how our loving God works. Because through Jesus, God gives us His promise that suffering does not have the final word.
