Today we begin our series "Raise the Roof," looking at events from the Bible where roofs were pivotal to the outcome. First we look at Rahab, a part of Jesus' family tree. But she was also a colorful woman for the time...she was strategic. She lied to government officials to spare the lives of two spies she'd hidden on her roof. She knew the spies would return with an army and overtake the city and asked for them to spare her family when they returned. Her roof was a place of refuge, of safety, and of opportunity.
