FAQs for Guests

When are your services? What types do you offer?
Trinity offers two Traditional Services each Sunday at 8 and 11 a.m. and one Contemporary Service at 9:30 a.m. The Traditions services are just as the name implies – “traditional” – featuring hymns sung from the United Methodist Hymnal and accompanied by an organist while Celebration service features a full band complete with piano, strings, horns, bass, guitars, vocalists and percussionists!

Where are you located?
The physical address for Trinity United Methodist Church is 210 W. Main Street, Hummelstown, Pa 17036. We’re a couple blocks off the square of Hummelstown and very easy to find. For complete directions and maps from the Harrisburg, Hershey or Lancaster areas, please visit our Directions page.

Where do I park?
While parking is somewhat limited at Trinity, we do have a parking lot with handicap parking available at the main entrance of our Educational Building as you enter from Main Street. PLEASE NOTE: Our parking lot has a ONE-WAY entrance from Main Street, and traffic flows straight through the parking lot from Main Street to the alley. Please do not attempt to exit the lot onto Main Street–we would hate to see you or anyone else involved in an accident. If the lot is full, you have several other options available. Please visit our Where to Park page or download this map for more details on parking options.

Are your buildings handicapped accessible?
Yes! Trinity has an elevator that allows handicapped accessibility to ALL floors of our new buildings. Worshipers using wheelchairs may park in the handicapped spaces in the lot and enter through the Educational Building. Inside the door to the right, you’ll find a wheelchair ramp that will provide access to our reception area where you may use the elevator to access any floor.

What are your hours?
Trinity church office is open weekdays 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. For security, the facility doors are only unlocked when a large event is planned or services are scheduled. Anyone wishing to gain access during business hours must be admitted by the church office itself.

Does Trinity screen its volunteers for safety of children and youth?
Yes. All Trinity volunteers interacting with children and youth are required to have their security clearances and are screened prior to working in our programs. Trinity is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for your child/youth to learn and grow. Our Safe Sanctuaries Policy requires volunteers provide the following: a completed historical application, three non-related references and multi-state criminal and child abuse clearances, as well as demonstrating an active relationship with the church for at least six months prior to involvement in our children and youth programs. Our Safe Sanctuaries Policy is available online.

How do I become a Trinity disciple?
At Trinity we’re less concerned with membership and more concerned with discipleship. We invite everyone to join us on the road to becoming the disciples Christ calls us to be.  We ask that anyone wishing to join Trinity contact the church office at (717)566-0252. You’ll be invited to meet with Pastor Jason Mackey to learn more about becoming a disciple at Trinity.

What do I do if I want to get married at Trinity?
Your first step is to call the church office at (717)566-0252 to contact Pastor Jason Mackey. Trinity has a wedding policy designed to encourage brides and grooms in their faith as they prepare to enter the covenant of marriage. Ceremonies are performed at the discretion of the pastor.

Can my family or community group use the facilities at Trinity?
Yes! Part of our desire to renovate and create additional space at Trinity was to open our doors to the community and provide opportunities for more outreach and mission work to occur through our facilities. Community groups such as Hummelstown Public Library, Narcotics Anonymous, Sewin’ Sisters and other groups have all held events at Trinity. If your group would like to inquire about meeting at Trinity, please contact us so that we may gather your information. All requests must receive approval from the Trinity Board of Trustees.

Where do I find information for Learning Express Nursery School (LENS)?
All of our LENS information you need concerning registration, schedules, tuition, and closing can be found online. If you have additional questions, please call (717)566-7551 and leave a message. Someone from the facility will contact you as soon as possible.
