Stewardship

“From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required…” Luke 12:48.

A Christian steward serves God out of love and gratitude and in recognition of all that he or she has received from God. Everything we have is given to us by God. The Bible tells us there are three primary ways that we can serve God, by sharing our time, our talent and our treasures.

TIME

When God gave us life, He also gave us time. Our time on earth is a gift from God, and we should use it wisely, ensuring that we will fulfill God’s plan. As disciples, we are called to give time to others as part of our stewardship. Helping to sort clothes in The Shepherd’s Closet, serving with Congregational Care and helping out at Promise Land are examples of Gifts of Time. Trinity offers you many opportunities to serve where your gifts of time and talent can fulfill God’s plan for you. TALENT

The sharing of our talents allows us to express our gratitude for all the God has given us in providing us with the ability to perform a task. Whether or not we recognize and utilize it, we all have some talent to give. Maybe it’s working with children, singing in the choir, or helping in the church office. Our growth as individuals and a church depends on the willingness of each of us to invest that talent for others and to use the talent to make a difference in the lives of others.

TREASURE

With our offering, we show our appreciation to God for all that He has done for us. As a disciple at Trinity, you have many opportunities to share your treasure. Giving to the General Fund helps support Trinity in her day-to-day operations. The Building and Improvement Fund helps ensure our buildings are maintained and improved as necessary. The Romans 13:8 Fund is designated to help pay down the debt from the improvement project. Giving to Missions allows you to impact your world locally, nationally and internationally. Finally, Planned Giving via a bequest in a will, gift annuity, charitable trust, etc., also is available. For more information on any type of gift, please contact the Stewardship Committee through the church office at 566-0252.
